Register to be an AgCAREERSTART farmer and help train the next generation of agricultural workers

Help secure a skilled and enthusiastic workforce for seasons to come
Are you a farm business owner working in one of AgriFutures’ industries?

AgCAREERSTART is a structured gap-year program being run by The National Farmers Federation (NFF) encouraging young Australian’s to try a career in agriculture by connecting them to jobs on Australian farms.

What is involved?
Over 10 months, you will provide an on-farm job for a school leaver or young Australian under 25.

When does it start?
First intake is in March 2022, ending in December 2022. The second intake is in February 2023.

Who can participate?
Any Australian farming business can apply.

What jobs are we looking for in AgCAREERSTART?
On-farm jobs such as farm-labour as well as soil testing, crop monitoring, pest and disease management, animal management and medicine.

Who employs the participant?
You are responsible for employing and paying the participant across the course of the program. NFF staff may be able to help you access existing government support, such as the Job Maker Hiring Credit.
